How often should I pump my septic tank?
Most experts recommend a pump-out every 3 to 5 years, but it varies with your tank size, the number of people in your home and your water usage.
My septic alarm is going off. What should I do?
An alarm usually means the liquid level in the pump chamber is high. Cut back on water use (laundry, dishwasher, long showers) and call us. Don’t keep silencing it and carry on.
Do I need a septic inspection when buying a home?
Always have the septic system inspected before finalizing the purchase of a home that has one. The inspection reveals the system’s condition and any need for repairs or maintenance, avoiding unexpected expenses after purchase.
What does ROWP mean, and why does it matter?
ROWP stands for Registered Onsite Wastewater Practitioner. Under BC’s Sewerage System Regulation, certain septic work must be designed, supervised or inspected by a ROWP. All of our work is ROWP-compliant.
Who is responsible for septic maintenance in BC?
The homeowner is responsible under the Sewerage System Regulation (SSR) to make sure the appropriate maintenance and monitoring is carried out for all components of the system.
